Abstract

Abstract A helicopter rotor hub is disclosed for transporting a flow of air from within the rotor to hollow sections within each of the rotor blades. A hollow rotor shaft, connected to an air compressor within the helicopter, conveys a flow of air through the rotor shaft to the rotor hub. The flow of air is discharged through a nozzle disposed at the trailing edge on the tip of the blade. The reaction force exerted by the discharging flow of air causes the rotor blade to rotate about the hub.
