Abstract SIDE-CHAIN-FLUORINATED AROMATIC ISOCYANATES ARE OBTAINED IS HIGH YIELD BY HEATING THE CORRESPONDING TRICHLOROMETHYL PHENYL ISOCYANATES WITH ANTIMONY TRIFLUORIDE IN THE ABSENCE OF SOLVENTS. COMPOUNDS MADE BY THIS PROCESS INCLUDE 3,3'' - BIS-(TRIFLUOROMETHYL)-4,4''-DIISOCYANATO-DIPHENYL DI FLUOROMETHANE, 2,4 - BIS-(TRIFLUOROMETHYL)-PHENYL ISOCYANATE, 2,5-BIS-(TRIFLUOROMETHYL)-PHENYL ISOCYANATE, AND 2,4BIS-(TRIFLUOROMETHYL)-PHENYL-1,5-DIISOCYANATE.
