Abstract

Abstract The base comprises a base plate having a plurality of slots formed therein, for receiving mounting bolts for machinery frames for mounting the machinery to the base plate, in which some of the slots have a greater width then the diameters of the shanks of the bolts used therewith. Accordingly, the wider slots restrain the bolts at only one side thereof against lateral movement. In addition, a strap coupled to an adjustment bolt is disposed below the slots being used, so that the machinery mounted thereabove can be displaced lengthwise along the base plate. The strap has threaded holes for engaging the machinery mounting bolts.

Claims Analysis

Total Claims: 16
Claim 1
Independent Claim 131 words
Base means, for fastener-mounting of machinery thereto, comprising: a base plate, having an axis; said base plate haVing means for receiving machinery-mounting fasteners; and wherein said fastener-receiving means includes first and second means for restraining sides of machinery-mounting fasteners against lateral movement relative to said axis; both said first and second means comprise surfaces of common axial length, and parallel fully throughout said length, formed in said base plate for contacting said sides of machinerymounting fasteners; said surfaces of said first means being spaced apart a prescribed distance to effect a common contacting engagement with opposite sides of given fasteners; and said surfaces of said second means being spaced apart more than said prescribed distance to effect a contacting engagement only with either one of opposite sides of such given fasteners.
Claim 2
Dependent Claim 131 words
Claim 3
Dependent Claim 24 words
Base means, according to claim 1, wherein: said base plate has a plurality of walled slots formed therein; and said walls define said surfaces.
Claim 4
Dependent Claim 24 words
Base means, according to claim 1, wherein: said base plate has a longitudinal axis; and said slots are linearly disposed parallel with said axis.
Claim 5
Dependent Claim 26 words
Base means, according to claim 3, further including: means for moving machinery-mounting fasteners, while the latter are in contact with said surfaces, axially along said slots.
Claim 6
Dependent Claim 26 words
Base means, according to claim 4, wherein: said moving means comprises means for engaging said fasteners and selectively and adjustably displacing the latter along said slots.
Claim 7
Dependent Claim 46 words
Base means, according to claim 5, wherein: said engaging and displacing means comprises a strap; said strap having a plurality of means for enveloping a portion of said fasteners; and further comprising adjustment means for selectively and adjustable displacing said strap axially relative to said slots.
Claim 8
Dependent Claim 27 words
Base means, according to claim 6, wherein: said plurality of enveloping means comprises spaced-apart holes formed in said strap for receiving said portions of said fasteners therein.
Claim 9
Dependent Claim 19 words
Base means, according to claim 7, wherein: said holes are threaded for receiving threaded portions of threaded machinery-mounting fasteners.
Claim 10
Dependent Claim 58 words
Base means, according to claim 6, wherein: said strap has a tab extending perpendicularly therefrom, said tab having a threaded hole formed therein; and said adjustment means comprises an adjustment screw rotatably secured at one end thereof to one end of said base plate, and having the other end thereof threadedly engaged with said hole in said tab.
Claim 11
Dependent Claim 29 words
Base means, according to claim 1, wherein: said fastener-engaging means further includes a second plurality of means for restraining only one side of the machinery-mounting fasteners against lateral movement.
Claim 12
Dependent Claim 19 words
Base means, according to claim 10, wherein: said first and second pluralities of restraining means are disposed in parallel.
Claim 13
Dependent Claim 27 words
Base means, according to claim 1, wherein: said fastener-engaging means further includes a second plurality of means for restraining opposite sides of machinery-mounting fasteners against lateral movement.
Claim 14
Dependent Claim 19 words
Base means, according to claim 12, wherein: said first and second pluralities of restraining means are disposed in parallel.
Claim 15
Dependent Claim 28 words
Base means, according to claim 12, wherein: said fasteners-engaging means further includes a third plurality of means for restraining opposite sides of the machinery-mounting fasteners against lateral movement.
Claim 16
Dependent Claim 20 words
Base means, according to claim 14, wherein: said first, second and third pluralities of restraining means are disposed in parallel.
