Abstract

Abstract In a gas burner having a top and a ring of burner ports adjacent thereto, the gas inlet through the burner base is located adjacent a side of the burner body instead of centrally. An inverted dish-shaped baffle having a central opening distributes gas evenly to the burner ports but delays gas en route from the inlet to the burner ports. An opening in the baffle issues gas directly to flash-tube-charge-and ignition porting for quick ignition. Result: diminished ''''roll out'''' of flames from the burner ports upon ignition.
