Abstract

Abstract In a conduit system for transporting fluids which includes a vacuumized tubular casing containing fluid medium-carrying conduits, there is provided an outer protective tube surrounding the vacuumized tubular casing and defining therewith an annular jacket which contains an inert gas. The inert gas is such that it does not condense during a possible entry into the vacuumized tubular casing, exhibits a pressure which is higher than the pressure of the environment surrounding the protective tube and higher than the pressure of the fluid being transported, and has a boiling point below the operating temperature of the fluid being transported.
