Abstract
Abstract The present invention relates to photo-sensitive polymers and compositions thereof which become insoluble on exposure to light and can be developed with an aqueous alkaline solution. These photo-sensitive polymers are obtained by reacting polyvinylalcohol with (1) aromatic aldehydes, carboxylic acids or sulfonic acids having light-sensitive groups, and (2) aromatic aldehydes, carboxylic acids or sulfonic acids having phenolic hydroxyl groups. These photo-sensitive compositions according to this invention have a large range of applications such as photomechanical processes and photofabrications, etc.
