Claims Analysis
Total Claims: 11
Claim 1
Independent Claim
32 words
A method for the preparation of an immobilized enzyme in accordance with claim 1 in which the epoxy monomer is selected from glycidyl acrylate, glycidyl methacrylate, allyl glycidyl ether, or mixtures thereof.
Claim 2
Dependent Claim
108 words
A method for the preparation of an immobilized enzyme in accordance with claim 1 in which the epoxy monomer is prepared by the reaction of a polyepoxide having an epoxy equivalent value greater than one with a difunctional olefin having an unsaturated group and a second functional group and defined by the structural formula CH2 C(R1)-R2 in which R1 is hydrogen or methyl and R2 is carboxyl; hydroxymethyl; formyl; chlorocarbonyl; lower carboalkoxy; carbamyl; aminomethyl; mercaptocarbonyl; mercaptomethyl; -CH2NHR3 where R3 is lower alkyl, hydroxyphenyl or lower alkyl substituted hydroxyphenyl; or lower alkyl or phenyl substituted hydroxyphenyl; said polyepoxide reacting with the difunctional olefin through the said second functional group.
Claim 3
Dependent Claim
40 words
A method for the preparation of an immobilized enzyme in accordance with claim 1 in which the epoxy monomer is between about five and about 30 mol percent of the comonomer mixture comprising the epoxy monomer and the olefin monomer.
Claim 4
Dependent Claim
23 words
A method for the preparation of an immobilized enzyme in accordance with claim 1 in which the olefin monomer is acrylonitrile or methacrylonitrile.
Claim 5
Dependent Claim
25 words
A method for the preparation of an immobilized enzyme in accordance with claim 3 in which the polyepoxide is a diglycidyl ether of bisphenol A.
Claim 6
Dependent Claim
36 words
A method for the preparation of an immobilized enzyme in accordance with claim 3 in which the ratio of mol equivalents of epoxy groups in the polyepoxide to mols of difunctional olefin is greater than one.
Claim 7
Dependent Claim
37 words
A method for the preparation of an immobilized enzyme in accordance with claim 7 in which the ratio of mol equivalents of epoxy groups in the polyepoxide to mols of difunctional olefin is at least about two.
Claim 8
Dependent Claim
20 words
A method for the preparation of an immobilized enzyme in accordance with claim 1 in which the amine is piperidine.
Claim 9
Dependent Claim
20 words
A method for the preparation of an immobilized enzyme in accordance with claim 1 in which the amine is pyridine.
Claim 10
Dependent Claim
20 words
A method for the preparation of an immobilized enzyme in accordance with claim 1 in which the amine is triethylamine.
Claim 11
Dependent Claim
20 words
A method for the preparation of an immobilized enzyme in accordance with claim 1 in which the amine is tributylamine.
