Abstract AN ANCHORING DEVICE FOR WIRE STRANDS IN PRESTRESSED CONCRETE STRUCTURES WHEREIN THE END OF THE WIRE STRANDS IS UPSET TO THE SHAPE OF A HEAD AND THE END PORTION OF THE STRAND TOGETHER WITH THE HEAD IS SUPPORTED ON THE CONCRETE STRUCTURE BY MEANS OF A CLAMPING SUPPORT INSERTED IN A CONICAL RECESS. THE CONICAL RECESS IS PROVIDED IN AN ANCHOR BODY EMBEDDED IN THE CONCRETE STRUCTURE AND THE CLAMPING SUPPORT IS FORMED AS A MULTIPART WEDGING MEMBER SUPPORTING SAID HEAD AND INSERTED BETWEEN THE END PORTION OF THE STRAND AND THE CONICAL WALL OF SAID RECESS TO EXERT PRESSURE ON THE END PORTION OF THE STRAND.
