Abstract

Abstract The combination of one or more antimony oxides specified antimonates, magnesium hydroxide and a halogen source imparts useful flame retardancy to a variety of synthetic polymers. In addition, the gradual increase in the viscosity of aqueous dispersions of the aforementioned combination which is observed using other magnesium compounds is not apparent using the hydroxide.
