Abstract THE PRESENT INVENTION RELATES TO A METHODAND A DEVICE FOR DETERMINING THELOCATION OF A PREDETERMINED SEDIMENTATION CONTENT AT VARIOUS DEPTHS IN LIQUID MEDIA PRESENT IN SEDIMENTATION POOLS, DAMS AND THE LIKE. ACCORDING TO THE INVENTION THE ACTUAL VALUE OF VARIOUS SEDIMENTATION LEVELS IN SAID LIQUID IS CONTINUOUSLY COMPARED WITH A PREDETERMINED DESIRED VALUE SET ON A REGULATOR, WHEREBY THE MEASURING DEVICE DURING THE ENTIRE MEASURING PROCESS AUTOMATICALLY SEEKS AND FOLLOWS THE DEPTH IN THE MEDIUM CORRESPONDING TO THE PREDETERMINED VALUE SO THAT THE IMMERSION DEPTH OF THE DEVICE INDICATES THE LEVEL AT WHICH THE PREDETERMINED CONTENT IS PRESENT.
