Abstract SOLID SUPPORT MATERIALS USED IN THE SOLID PHASE SYNTHESIS OF COMPLEX ORGANIC MOLECULES MAY BE MODIFIED BY INTRODUCTION OF A P-OXY-BENZYL ALCOHOL OR A P-OXY-BENZYLOXYCARBONYLHYDRAZIDE LINKING GROUP TO PRODUCE MODIFIED SUPPOETS USEFUL IN SOLID PHASE PREPARATION OF PROTECTED PRODUCT FREE ACIDS AND PROTECTED PRODUCT HYDRAZIDES RESPECTIVELY. THE RESULTING PROTECTED PRODUCTS ARE PARTICULARLY USEFUL IN THE FRAGMENT CONDENSATION APPROACH TO THE SYNTHESIS OF LARGE, COMPLEX ORGANIC MOLECULES.
