Abstract
Abstract Gaseous reaction apparatus including a generally vertical vessel, a conduit for supplying gas to the upper end of the vessel, a conduit for causing material to be blown into the upper end of the vessel by gas discharged from the latter, and an outlet for discharging material from the lower end of the vessel. A gas receiving chamber peripherally of the vessel is open to the vessel intermediate the ends of the latter for receiving a carrier or other gas from a gas-material mixture in the vessel, and an outlet is provided for discharging gas from the gas receiving chamber. One use for this gaseous reaction apparatus is in the gaseous bleaching of pulp.
