Framed electrodes containing means for supplying or draining liquid along the edge of an electrode
Abstract
Abstract A framed electrode having a flat frame around a thin sheet electrode. The frame contains supply orifices in one side and drainage orifices in another side. The supply orifices and preferably also the drainage orifices communicate with the surface of the electrode through a plurality of micro-channels. A plurality of micro-channels diverge from each of said orifices toward the side of the electrode. Preferably the micro-channels diverging from a given orifice are symmetrically positioned. The micro-channels are preferably separated from the side of the electrode toward which they lead by a fluid distribution area positioned therebetween. The fluid distribution area contains a plurality of spaced projections.
