Abstract THE COMPOUND BIS(3-CHLORO-4-HYDROCYPHENYL) MALONONITRILE AND A METHOD FOR MAKING THE SAME BASED ON THE REACTION OF 2-CHLOROPHENOL AND PYRUVONITRILE ARE DESCRIBED. THIS COMPOUND CAN BE REACTED WITH DIACYL HALIDES OR WITH DIPHENYL CARBONATE OR PHOSGENE TO FORM POLYESTER RESINS USEFUL IN MOLDING AND FILM-FORMING APPLICATIONS.
