Abstract PLANT INSECT PESTS, PARTICLARLY APHIDS, ARE COMBATED BY APPLYING TO THE LOCUS OF THE PLANTA AN EFFECTIVE BUT SUBSTANTIALLY NONPHYTOTOXIC AMOUNT OF A PRODUCT OF REACTION OF DIMETHYLCARBAMYL CHLORIDE UNDER BASIS CONDITIONS WITH BENZOTRIAZOLE, 5-METHYLBENZOTRIAZOLE OR 5,6-DIMETHYLBENZOTRIAZOLE. THE REACTION PRODUCTS ARE MIXTURE OF VARYING PROPORTIONS OF ISOMERIC BENZOTRIAZOLE DIMETHYLCARBOXAMIDES WHICH ARE DIFFICULT TO SEPARATE BY CHEMICAL OR PHYSICAL TECHNIQUES.
