Abstract

Abstract In an extrusion head for forming tubular thermoplastic parisons, the base material emerging from an extruder is divided into two individual material flows, each of which is caused to spread circumferentially about a core in the course of its advance axially with respect to the core to form two tubular coaxial flows, each having a longitudinally extending seam zone. The two coaxial tubes are united in the extrusion head to form a parison in which any seam zone extends only half way through the wall thickness.
