Abstract A MAGNETIC RECORDING TAPE IN WHICH MAGNETIC MATERIAL, SUCH AS IRON OXIDE PARTICLES, IS MIXED WITH A BINDER TO CREATE A DISPERSION WJICH IS COATED ON A BASE. THE DISPERSION INCLUDES A WATER-BASED BINDER AND WETTING AGENT, WHEREBY THE DISPERSION MAY BE APPLIED AND DRIED WITHOUT CREATING NOXIOUS FUMES, TO PRODUCE A COATING WHICH IS HIGHLY FLEXIBLE AND SMOOTH AND HAS LUBRICATING PROPERTIES.
