Abstract
Abstract A method of fabricating a cord reinforced sleeve comprising mounting a tube of uncured curable rubbery material on a rigid cylindrical mandrel,placing a band of precut cord material upon a carrier in the form of an endless movable belt so that the cords of such band are oriented parallel to a line which makes an acute angle with the longitudinal axis of the mandrel so that relative movement between the band on the carrier and the tube on the mandrel in a direction circumferentially of the mandrel wind the band helically about the mandrel a plurality of times and place the respective edges of the band in mutually adhesive contact along a helix coaxial with the tube on the mandrel.
