Abstract METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR STRIPPING INSULATION FROM A CONDUCTIVE WIRE USING CLEAN THERMAL ENERGY. A JIG AND MASK POSITIONED BETWEEN TWO THERMAL ENERGY SOURCES EXPOSE ONLY THAT PORTION OF THE INSULATION TO BE REMOVED. A PORTION OF INSULATION ADJACENT TO THE EXPOSED WIRE IS CUT AND SLID OVER THE PREVIOUSLY EXPOSED WIRE. THE WIRE THUS EXPOSED IS FREE OF CONTAMINATION AND THERMAL DISTORTION.
