Abstract
Abstract A fast acting circuit for controlling alternating electric current by placing an impedance element in series between the source and the load and sensing the voltage developing across the element with a trigger circuit where the output of the trigger circuit is coupled to a solid state latching device and also coupled in series with the current source whereby AC current in excess of a pre-selected amount causes the trigger to actuate the latch to interrupt the current flow from the source, the latch maintaining the interruption until manually reset.
