Abstract POLYURETHANE/POLYUREAS PREPARED BY THE PROCESS OF REACTING 4,4''-METHYLENEBIS(CYCLOHEXYL ISOCYANATE) CONTAINING AT LEAST 60% OF THE TRANS-TRANS ISOMOR WITH A POLYOL AND A POLYAMINE IN PROPORTIONS SUCH THAT THERE IS AN EXCESS OF ISOCYANATO GROUPS OVER HYDROXY AND AMINO GROUPS AND SUFFICIENT WATER IS PROVIDED TO REACT WITH THE EXCESS ISOCYANATO GROUPS. THE POLYURETHANE/POLYUREAS, WHICH HAVE OUTSTANDING ABRASION RESISTANCE, CREEP RESISTANCE, AND COMPRESSION SET, ARE PARTICULARLY USEFUL IN MAKING CAST ELASTOMERIC ARTICLES.
