Abstract

Abstract A package to contain materials to be added to a resin formulation containing vinylic monomer comprises a thin-walled plastic envelope which is soluble in the resin formulation. Preferably the envelope is made of polystyrene film. The polystyrene envelope is formed from sheet stock over a hot mandrel by sliding a rigid container onto the mandrel over a sheet of flexible plastic film overlying the mandrel. The sheet of film is large enough to form a lining for the rigid container with flaps of the film protruding from the rigid container. After materials are placed inside the lined rigid container, the flaps are sealed to form an enclosed film package within the rigid container. Additive materials which would themselves dissolve or attack the plastic envelope may be carried in an inert vehicle and/or be coated with an inert coating material to protect the envelope during storage.
