Abstract OPACIFIERS COMPRISING AIR-CONTAINING MICROCAPSULES HAVING AN AVERAGE PARTICLE DIAMETER OF BELOW ABOUT ONE MICRON PROVIDE HIGHLY OPAQUE SURFACES WHEN COATED ONTO AND/OR INCORPORATED INTO FIBROUS AND NON-FIBROUS SUBSTRATES. THE OPACIFIERS ARE PRODUCED BY HEATING LIQUIDCONTAINING PRECURSOR MICROCAPSULES AT TEMPERATURES SUFFICIENT TO EXPEL THE LIQUID AND PROVIDE AIR IN THE MICROCAPSULE.
