Abstract A method of joining aluminum and/or aluminum alloy members by brazing in vacuum or an inert gas which includes the step of etching the aluminum or aluminum alloy and/or aluminum alloy brazing solder with a bath of etching solution containing fluorine ion in advance of brazing.
