Process for dyeing fibers or fabrics of aromatic polyamides
Abstract
Abstract A process for dip dyeing aromatic polyamide fibers or fabrics with acid dyes with good dyeability and levelling properties, without modifying measures which may cause deterioration of the desirable properties of the aromatic polyamides, which comprises dip dyeing fibers or fabrics of an unmodified aromatic polyamide in a dye bath comprising an acid dye of the monosulfonic acid, monosulfonic acid-carboxylic acid, disulfonic acid, disulfonic acid-carboxylic acid, or carboxylic acid and at least 1 percent by weight (based on the weight of the solution) of a neutral or acidic inorganic salt, in the presence of a swelling agent having a phenolic hydroxyl group, and alkali metal salts thereof; and soaping the dyeing obtained.
