Abstract
Abstract A novel protective coating composition for application to metals by firing in an oxidizing environment at a temperature in the general range of 1,250* F. to 1,600* F., and essentially consisting of aluminum, a special mill addition having both refractory compound and reducible compound constituents, and a special homogeneous glass frit, obtains improved resitance of the metals to weathering and to corrosion by alkaline or acid solution attack under atmospheric conditions.
