Abstract
Abstract An enclosure of metal, in which carbon is both soluble and mobile, is inserted in the fluid in which carbon content is to be determined. Within the enclosure is an electrolyte and a reference electrode dipping into the electrolyte. The potential between the reference electrode and the metal of the enclosure provides an indication of the carbon content in the fluid.
