Abstract

Abstract A carbon coated layer having good property for controlling the secondary electron emission and electron reflecting effect is deposited on a metal article surface having an amorphous nickel layer plated thereon by heating at a temperature of from 500 to 680*C in an atmosphere containing at least one hydrocarbon gas selected from the group consisting of acetylene, ethylene, ethane and propane having a partial pressure of 5 to 50 Torr.
