Total Claims: 5
Claim 1
Independent Claim
22 words
The process of claim 1 wherein said basic carbonate-wollastonite precipitate is calcined at a temperature of from about 1,450* to 1,850* F.
Claim 2
Dependent Claim
17 words
The process of claim 1 wherein said wollastonite is present in an amount of about 70 percent.
Claim 3
Dependent Claim
22 words
The process of claim 3 wherein said basic carbonate-wollastonite precipitate is calcined at a temperature of about 1, 650* to 1,950* F.
Claim 4
Dependent Claim
104 words
A process for the preparation of an extended rare earth oxide polishing composition which comprises: a preparing an aqueous admixture containing carbonate ions, rare earth ions and from about 0.1 to 75 weight percent wollastonite; b forming a basic carbonate-wollastonite precipitate by heating said aqueous admixture to a temperature within about 10* C. of its boiling point for a time of from about 1/2 to 1 1/2 hours; c separating said basic carbonate-wollastonite precipitate from said aqueous admixture; and d calcining said basic carbonate at a temperature of from about 1,200* F. to 2,000* F. to produce an extended rare earth oxide polishing composition.
Claim 5
Dependent Claim
34 words
The process of claim 5 wherein the said wollastonite is present in an amount of about 70 percent and said basic carbonate-wollastonite precipitate is calcined at a temperature of about 1,650* to 1,950* F.
