Abstract
Abstract An electrolytic process for removing ionic substances from liquids wherein the liquid is contacted with a bed of reactive electrode particles. The electrode particles comprise a compound which will react with the ionic substance to be removed and may be coated with an ion-permeable membrane. The process finds particular utility in the removal of impurities from water.
