Abstract
Abstract Solid polytetrafluoroethylene, sintered or unsintered, is degraded non-destructively by irradiation at a dosage level in the range of from about 5 megarads to about 25 megarads. The irradiated polytetrafluoroethylene is readily comminuted and exhibits the characteristic low coefficeint of friction of polytetrafluoroethylene.
