Abstract
Abstract Dense liquid or slurry explosive compositions, which can be pumped or poured and detonated in very slender columns have a liquid menstruum made sufficiently sensitive per se for cap detonation in diameters as small as one-half inch. They comprise a complete solution of an alkali or alkaline earth metal perchlorate, e.g. sodium perchlorate, combined preferably with a small amount of ammonium or sodium nitrate, organic liquid fuel, preferably ethylene glycol, and solid particulate aluminum as fuel, TNT, PETN or RDX also can be added. Basic sensitivity is provided by molecularly adjacent fuel with all oxidizer in solution.
