Abstract
Abstract Apparatus and method are disclosed for welding metal members by means of vibratory energy. Reliability of such welding apparatus is improved by provision of an anvil designed for regulated response to excitation by an ultrasonically-powered sonotrode. The anvil is mounted in an assembly which contributes appropriate support, restraint and isolation.
