Abstract
Abstract SPERICAL GLASS BEADS ARE PRODUCED BY ISOLATING INDIVIDUAL GLASS PARTICLES ON A NON-WETTING CERAMIC BLOCK AND HEATING THE GLASS TO A TEMPERATURE AT WHICH THE GLASS PARTICLES ARE DRAWN-UP INTO SPERICAL BEADS. THE SPERICAL BEADS, EITHER COATED OR UNCOATED, MAY BE EMPLOYED AS THE CARRIER IN AN ELECTROSTATOGRAPHIC DEVELOPER. THE CARRIERS ARE CHARACTERIZED BY MORE UNIFORM SIZING AND GREATER APPROXIMATION TO ASPHERICAL SHAPE.
