Abstract
Abstract Nip pressures such as between two rolls are measured by inserting into the nip a thin-walled non-rigid tube, passing a restricted stream of pressurized fluid through a conduit to which the tube is connected to cause the fluid to move through the tube, and measuring the pressure of the fluid in the tube when it is balanced by the nip pressure. The restriction can restrict the rate of flow or the volume of flow.
