Abstract A PROCESS FOR PRODUCING L-LYSINE AND L-ISOLEUCINE WHICH COMPRISES CULTIVATING A THERONINE RESISTANT MUTANT STRAIN OF ARTHROBACTER ALKANICUS (ARTHOBACTER ALKANICUS NO. 109) (ATCC NO.21657), UNDER AEROBIC CONDITIONS IN AN AQUEOUS NUTRIENT MEDIUM CONTAINING ASSIMILABLE CARBON SOURCES SUCH AS HYDROCARBONS, FATTY ACIDS, ORGANIC ACIDS OR ALCOHOLS, AND SURFACE ACTIVE AGENTS SUCH AS POLYOXYETHYLENE-SORBITAN MONO-OLEATE OR POLYOXYETHYLENESORBITANE TRI-OLEATE, AND ACCUMULATING L-LYSINE AND L-ISOLEUCINE IN THE RESULTANT CULTURE LIQUOR.
