Abstract A METHOD IS DESCRIBED FOR COMBATING INVERTEBRATE ANIMALS SUCH AS BARK BETTLES BY REGULATING THE AGGREGATION OF THEM. THE METHOD EXPLOITS CHEMICAL COMPOSITIONS HAVING A CONTENT OF ATTRACTANTS COMPRISING THE CLASS OF DIOXABICYCLO COMPOUNDS EXEMPLIFIED BY 1,5 - DIMETHYL6,8 - DIOXABICYCLO(3.2.1)OCTANE, USED ALONE , OR IN COMBINATION WITH NORMAL TERPENOID COMPOUNDS OF TREE RESINS OR IN COMBINATION WITH NORMAL TERPENOID COMPOUNDS OF TREE RESINS AND A COMPATIBLE BIOCIDE.
