Claim 4
Dependent Claim
143 words
A process for protecting the interior surface of an iron tank or pipe, which comprises applying to said surface a liquid composition comprising: 100 parts by weight of a liquid polymer of butadiene, said polymer having terminal allylic halide groups; from about 150 to about 300 parts by weight of a block copolymer of the A(BA)n type where A is a monoalkenyl aromatic hydrocarbon polymer block and B is a conjugated diolefin polymer bLock; from about two to about 20 parts by weight of polyalkyleneimine curative; from zero to about 100 parts by weight of asphalt; from about 25 to about 60 parts by weight of reinforcing filler; and from about 100 to about 400 parts by weight of organic solvent; and curing said composition at ambient temperatures on said surface to a solid rubber of high abrasion resistance, adhering to said surface.
Claim 5
Dependent Claim
20 words
The process as claimed in claim 5 wherein the surface is an interior surface of an iron tank or pipe.
Claim 6
Dependent Claim
18 words
A process as claimed in claim 6, wherein the curing of the composition takes place at ambient temperatures.
Claim 7
Dependent Claim
28 words
A process as claimed in claim 7, wherein the liquid butadiene polymer and the curative therefor are contacted immediately prior to application of the composition to the surface.
Claim 8
Dependent Claim
24 words
A process as claimed in claim 8, wherein the liquid composition is applied to a pipe surface by spraying through a rotating spray head.
Claim 9
Dependent Claim
28 words
A process as claimed in claim 8 wherein the composition is applied to the pipe surface by casting from a casting head followed by centrifugally spinning the pipe.
Claim 10
Dependent Claim
38 words
A process as claimed in claim 8, which includes the steps of applying to the steel pipe surface a primer selected from the group consisting of organo-silanes and polyurethanes, prior to the application of the liquid composition thereto.
