Abstract
Abstract Disclosed are combustible gels comprised of an aliphatic alcohol and a crosslinked olefin-modified hydroxyalkyl cellulose. These gels find utility as fuels for chafing dishes and the like, as flares, and for decorative lighting purposes. Color producing inorganic materials can be added for pyrotechnic applications.
