Abstract
Abstract A bottom bed structure includes a rectangular bottom bed frame having supported thereon a plurality of coil springs and a plurality of beam members having pressed out portions forming protruding resilient lip portions. A pair of oppositely positioned lip portions receives the lowest spring coil turn and fixedly secures the coil turn in the spacing formed between the lower surfaces of a pair of oppositely positioned protruding resilient lip portions and the upper surface of the beam member. The resilient lip portions make frictional contact with the lowest spring coil turn.

A bottom bed structure comprising in combination: a rectangular bottom bed frame; a plurality of transverse members supported in a spaced parallel relationship to each other on said rectangular frame and being perpendicularly positioned to the length of said rectangular frame; a plurality of beam members mounted on said transverse members and arranged parallel to the length of said rectangular frame; and a plurality of coil springs, each of which includes a turn portion on the lowest part of the spring coil; each of said beam members having a top wall member, said top wall member having a series of pressed out portions forming pairs of oppositely positioned protruding resilient lip portions, each pair of oppositely positioned lip portions receiving the lowest spring coil turn and fixedly securing said coil turn in spacings formed between the lower surfaces of each said pair of protruding lip portions and the upper surface of said beam member; each said pair of resilient lip portions being pressed downwardly to make frictional contact with said lowest spring coil turn.
