Abstract A NEW ONE-STEP PROCESS FOR THE PURIFICATION AND ISOLATION OF THE THROMBIN-LIKE FRACTION OF THE VENOM OF CERTAIN PIT VIPERS IS DESCRIBED. THE SIMPLE PROCESS USES AFFINITY CHROMATOGRAPHY FOR THE FRACTIONATION OF NATIVE VENOM, EMPLOYING SPECIFICALLY BUFFERED LOADING AND ELUTION SOLUTIONS. THE CHROMATOGRAPHIC COLUMN USES AN AGMATINE-COUPLED AGAROSE PACKING.
