Abstract A PROCESS FOR DESULFURIZATION OF NAPHTHA WHICH COMPRISES CONTACTING THE NAPHTHA IN THE PRESENCE OF HYDROGEN GAS WITH A CATALYST COMPRISING A GROUP V111 METAL COMPONENT AND A LAYERED CRYSTALLINE ALUMINOSILICATE, PREFERABLY, THE CATALYST GROUP V111 METAL IS PALLADIUM AND THE DESULFURIATION IS PREFERABLY CARRIED OUT AT A RELATIVELY LOW TEMPERATURE BETWEEN 300* AND 550*F. THE NAPHTHA DESULFURIZATION CATALYST USED HAS BEEN FOUND TO BE SUPERIOR TO DESUFURIZATION CATALYSTS, CONTANING THREE DIMENSIONAL CRYSTALINE ALUMINOSILICATE MOLECULAR SIEVES.
