Claims Analysis

Total Claims: 4
Claim 1
Independent Claim 216 words
In a xerographic copying apparatus; a rotatable member having a photosensitive surface thereon; an electrostatic latent image on said surface, means developing said latent image; said developing means comprising: a conductive wall spaced from said photosensitive surface, an electrode connected to said conductive wall at the lower end thereof and spaced from said photosensitive surface at a distance which is less than the spacing therefrom of said conductive wall, and insulating means located between said conductive wall and said electrode to electrically separate the same; a developer sump containing developer therein; means for delivering developer from said sump to the space between said conductive wall and said photosensitive surface; developer substantially filling said space between said conductive wall and said photosensitive surface for developing said latent image; the spacing between said electrode and said photosensitive surface being of such dimension to allow excessive developer to pass thereinto and to freely fall therethrough into said sump; and means for moving said photosensitive surface in the direction of developer flow at a speed which is faster than the flow of the developer from the space between said conductive wall and said photosensitive surface into said space between said electrode and said photosensitive surface whereby said latent image is developed as said photosensitive surface moves past said conductive wall.
Claim 2
Dependent Claim 216 words
Claim 3
Dependent Claim 19 words
The apparatus of claim 1 further including means for supplying independent voltages to said conductive wall and second electrodes.
Claim 4
Dependent Claim 30 words
The apparatus of claim 1 further including a wire mesh located in the space between said conductive wall and the photosensitive surface and means for applying an electrical voltage thereto.
