Abstract
Abstract A ceramic-to-metal seal is described which comprises a silvermanganese-copper alloy. Metal may be sealed to ceramic in a one step process without prior metallizing of the ceramic. The alloy melts at temperatures which are sufficiently below the melting point of silver to enable one to seal silver-plated metal parts to ceramic without melting the silver plating.
