Abstract
Abstract IN THE WET PROCESSING OF KAOLIN CLAY, THE CLAY CRUDE IS INITIALLY DEFLUOCCULATED (DISPERSED) WITH A SALT OF A POLYMERIC CARBOXYLIC ACID AS THE PRIMARY DIEPERSANT. THE DEFLOCCULATED CLAY THEN UNDERGOES FURTHER PROCESSING, E.G., FRACTIONATION, FLOCCING, BLEACHING, FILTRATION, RINSING AND RE-DEFLOCCULATION. THE PREFERRED FLOCCING AGENT IS ALUMINUM SULFATE.
