Abstract
Abstract A sealing device for a vacuum extractor is provided for extracting moisture from a moving web passing adjacent the extractor. The vacuum extractor includes an elongated tube having a slot disposed therein for extracting the moisture therethrough, with the length of the tube being adjustable to accommodate different widths of a web to be treated by the adjustable longitudinal movement in the slot of an elongated, flexible, elastomeric rope-like substance which sealingly engages the edges of that portion of the slot not engaging a web to be treated.
