Abstract POWDERED CELLULOSE LAURATE IS PREPARED BY REACTING CELLULOSE WITH A REAGENT CONTAINING THE LAUROYL GROUPING TO PRODUCE CELLULOSE LAURATE, DISSOLVING THE CELLULOSE LAURATE IN CHLOROFORM, ADDING METHAOL SLOWLY UNTIL THE SOLUTION BECOMES CLOUDY, THEN ADDING ASUBSTANTIALLY GREATER AMOUNT OF METHANOL RAPIDLY, AND RECOVERING A POWDERED CELLULOSE LAURATE.
