Abstract

Abstract A slide fastener for attachment in a non-linear course, without puckering, in which the tapes are capable of planar, multiform, elongation by virtue of being formed of loosely-woven, bias-woven strips of slick, wiry filaments, the interstices in the weave decreasing or enlarging in response to arcuate planar deflection of the slide fastener.

Claims Analysis

Total Claims: 9
Claim 1
Independent Claim 79 words
A slide fastener comprising: a. a pair of coplanar tapes, b. interlocking opposite fastener elements attached to the tapes, c. a slide on the fastener elements for uniting and separating the fastener elements, d. the tapes formed of wiry, stiff-like, slick bias-woven filaments, capable of planar, multiform elongation and the filaments are interwoven loosely with intersticial spaces between the filaments thereby forming an open mesh, e. the interlocking elements following a planar, arcuate course when the tapes are deflected.
Claim 2
Dependent Claim 79 words
A slide fastener comprising: a. a pair of coplanar tapes, b. interlocking opposite fastener elements attached to the tapes, c. a slide on the fastener elements for uniting and separating the fastener elements, d. the tapes formed of wiry, stiff-like, slick bias-woven filaments, capable of planar, multiform elongation and the filaments are interwoven loosely with intersticial spaces between the filaments thereby forming an open mesh, e. the interlocking elements following a planar, arcuate course when the tapes are deflected.
Claim 3
Dependent Claim 20 words
A slide fastener according to claim 1 in which the filaments are interwoven loosely in groups of at least two.
Claim 4
Dependent Claim 28 words
A slide fastener according to claim 1 in which the filaments are interwoven loosely in groups of at least one filament each, with intersticial spaces between the filaments.
Claim 5
Dependent Claim 13 words
A slide fastener according to claim 1 in which the filaments are horsehair.
Claim 6
Dependent Claim 14 words
A slide fastener according to claim 1 in which the filaments are imitation horsehair.
Claim 7
Dependent Claim 15 words
A slide fastener according to claim 1 in which the filaments are viscose rayon monofilaments.
Claim 8
Dependent Claim 28 words
A slide fastener according to claim 1 in which the tapes are deflectable from a linear course to an arcuate course for attachment and maintain their coplanar relationship.
Claim 9
Dependent Claim 40 words
A slide fastener according to claim 1 in which the tapes are deflectable and attached an arcuate course, with the spaces between the filaments of the one tape diminished, and of the other tape enlaRged and maintain their coplanar relationship.
