Abstract
Abstract At least one isocyanurate derivative is added to polymer or polymer mixtures as a stabilizing agent, preferably prior to molding and setting the blend. The isocyanurate derivative may be added in the form of an emulsion or dispersion in a liquid vehicle. An improved friction material contains an isocyanate derivative and a trimerization catalyst acting to react said isocyanate to said isocyanurate, in admixture with an organic binding agent comprising a phenolic resin and inorganic or organic fillers and, if desired, a natural or synthetic rubber.
