Abstract

Abstract The coalescence rate of an aqueous/liquid hydrocarbon emulsion system is enhanced by the presence of an alkylated phenol as a minor part of the organic phase. Such hydrocarbon solutions further containing a chelation metal collector can be advantageously employed in the liquid ion exchange process for the extractive recovery of metal values from dilute aqueous solutions thereof.
